Jason Gorsline, Design Director & Partner, Think Fabricate

In his leadership role as founding design director of the studio within Susan Doban Architect, Jason brings his experience as a furniture designer and fabricator as well as his work on architectural and interiors projects to our practice. The spirit of collaboration, a close attention to detail, and welcoming attitude towards new ideas and influences is apparent in his approach to design.
Since co-founding Think Fabricate, he has worked on development and fabrication of prefabricated wall panel systems for Monroe College; on office interiors projects, and design of numerous furniture projects.
Before joining the firm in 2009, he worked in collaboration with Susan Doban Architect on several projects, including the lobby of 81 Centre Avenue in New Rochelle, where the interior of the lobby was enlivened with graphic imagery taken from the ornate terracotta patterns on the historic façade. He has also worked on designs for the furnishings at a new dormitory proposed for Monroe College, for schematic designs for their new gym, and on some residential interiors projects.
In 2002, Jason co-founded A&G Designs, where he was design director. While there, he was responsible for the design and fabrication of custom furniture, restaurant, store, and residential interiors, on projects which included custom furniture and wall treatments for a private residence, in Big Sky, Montana, featured in Timber Homes Illustrated, March, 2008; and design and fabrication for Acqua Santa and Aurora, two bar/restaurants in Williamsburg, as well as fabrication of interior paneling and furniture from reclaimed pine to create a signature look for Bark Hot Dogs in Park Slope. He also worked on a show design for IMI New York, a collection of tanneries from Italy and France. He has worked on numerous custom furniture pieces ranging from upholstered sofas to multi-cabinet wall systems.
Jason received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 1998 for the University of Virginia. He currently serves on the judging panel for the tenth anniversary of the Building Brooklyn Awards. He was an exhibitor at Brooklyn Designs in 2006 and 2007 and looks forward to participating in 2010.
